HISTORY OF ST. LOUIS WITH BRIAN ELSESSER

Spring 2024 Schedule: Apr. 6, 13, 20, and 27

(Four Saturdays in April)

St. Louis History covers the post-Civil War era to the present.

Highlights will include the Gilded Age politics, the 1904 Worlds Fair, streetcar systems and St. Louis’s early aviation Legacy, St. Louis during World War II, the postwar civil rights era, and late 20th century re-imaginations of a modern city.

Classes will be taught by history professor, Brian Elsesser, and will emphasize the unique character of our fair city.

St. Louis Literature looks at four authors: Mark Twain, Kate Chopin, T. S. Eliot, and Tennessee Williams.
